Mar 9, 2020 | Wedding

I loved being the Photographer for this beautiful wedding at Gorcott Hall! When I first met Bride, Vicky and she started telling me about their wedding plans, I was so excited to shoot their day! They’re such a warm, fun couple and wanted their wedding to be a big celebration of love, family and fun. Not only would not only incorporate their style but also include their Chinese and Nigerian heritage, topped off with an epic party! They pulled it off no problem. These guys know how to have a wedding! They didn’t stop smiling and laughing all day.

Getting ready wedding photos at home in Birmingham

The wedding morning started with Vicky and her bridesmaids, getting ready at home in Birmingham. Make up by Harper was on make up duties and Imperial Hair providing the gorgeous wedding hair. Vicky’s Bridesmaids were such a lovely group of girls, that the morning had a real upbeat feeling of excitement. Vicky’s family arrived and made sure everyone was well fed before they left for church (including me). I have to say that Vicky’s Dad makes the best dim sum I’ve ever eaten! The weather was perfect Vicky and her girls decided to crack open the champagne in the garden and have a celebratory glass of fizz, before they got into their outfits. This meant I could get some lovely natural photos of them all, as they enjoyed their champagne.

Dana Bolton Wedding dress for a Modern Boho Bride

Vicky’s dress was by one of my favourite British Designers, Dana Bolton. I just love her modern, boho style dresses. They’re made of the softest, swishy fabrics with beautiful French lace and are modern and feminine with a boho luxe look. Vicky looked amazing in hers!

Wedding at St Mary’s Church, Selly Oak Birmingham

Once the girls were all ready, I headed off ahead of them meet the Groom and the boys at Church. The wedding ceremony took place at St Mary’s Church, in Selly Oak, Birmingham. This church has a really long driveway, making it easy for guests to park. There’s a lovely path that leads from the driveway, into the grounds of the church and a lawned area, perfect for family group photos. I photographed the boys before getting ready to capture Vicky arrive with her Dad and Bridesmaids.

Gorcott Hall Wedding Photography

The sun carried on shining when we arrived at Gorcott Hall, so Vicky and Nathaniel could mingle with their guests in the gardens. Gorcott Hall is a really beautiful, secluded country house venue. It’s tucked away just outside Redditch and just 15-20 minutes from Birmingham.

Wedding Photos at Gorcott Hall

The grounds at Gorcott Hall offer so many stunning locations for your wedding photos. The gardens are enclosed by a rustic, textured wall, which I love and if you walk to the back of the venue, there’s a pair of huge wooden gates. The steps in front of the venue provide an excellent backdrop for your wedding party group photos.

The Speeches

Before the speeches started, Vicky and Nathanial took a few minutes to chat to their guests at each table. It was a lovely way to make sure they’d spoken to everyone.

Bride and Groom Chinese Wedding Outfits

After the speeches Vicky and Nathaniel changed into their Chinese wedding outfits, that were handmade in Hong Kong. The couple kicked off the party with an really fun first dance. The dance floor was packed all night with some serious dance moves being shown off! It really was a great party!

Nigerian Wedding Outfits

After plenty of dancing, it was time for another outfit change and the pair slipped away to change into traditional Nigerian outfits, that had been handmade by Nathaniel’s Mum – what a talent! They looked incredible!
