Black tie wedding with pampas grass at Shustoke Barn

Dec 15, 2022 | Wedding

When Bride Aneeta first got in touch, she told me that her wedding to Orlando would be a fusion of two cultures, with family at the very heart, I knew it was going to be a very special wedding. They say good things come to those who wait and boy was this wedding worth the wait! In May 2022, after three date changes, Italian style and Indian glamour combined. The result was a timeless black tie wedding with pampas grass at Shustoke Barn. Waiting meant everyone they wanted could be there to celebrate with them. I was so happy to photograph this gorgeous wedding for such a lovely couple.

Shustoke Barn Wedding Venue

Shustoke Barn never fails to impress! It’s cool, yet welcoming. Rustic and contemporary, all at the same time. The staff are wonderful and really go the extra mile to make sure couples have an absolutely amazing day. If you’re looking for barn wedding venues in Birmingham, don’t just take my word for it, check out some of their Google reviews and see for yourself. Shustoke Barn wedding food is fabulous! Trust me when I say I’ve eaten a lot of wedding food in my time, so I should know!

Ceremony at Shustoke Barn

When you have your wedding ceremony at Shustoke Barn, you’ll be saying your vows to each other in the most amazing light! It really is a wedding photographers dream come true! Anneta walked down the aisle on the arm of her proud Dad to a beaming Orlando. They then made their ceremony more personal by reading vows they’d written themselves. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place!

Confetti Time

Straight after the ceremony, Aneeta and Orlando took a couple of minutes for themselves, with a glass of fizz, while I organised the guests into two lines for a confetti walkway. They’d chosen large colourful fresh petals, which looked great and had the added bonus of not getting stuck in their hair, like smaller confetti does.

Fun Bridal Party Photos

When it comes to the group photos of your Bridal Party, I want to give you the best of both worlds. A timeless wedding group photo, where everyone looks stunning and also some fun shots that show bags of personality. A champagne spray is a brilliant way to get everyone involved and really celebrate with you.

Wedding Bouquet with pampas grass

Pampas grass has definitely been having a moment this year! I loved how it was incorporated into the bouquet’s and also the venue styling for this wedding.

Sparkler photos at Shustoke Barn

To end the evening, Aneeta and Orlando had a sparkler exit. Sparkler photos are lots of fun but do need to be organised to be photographed safely. Fortunately I have lots of experience so can help. A few pieces of advice would be first off, don’t involve all of your guests. I’d suggest thirty people maximum. Make sure you have lots of lighters, a minimum of one between two people but ideally one each. It’s important to light all of the sparklers at the same time and everyone having a lighter means you can do this. Finally, buy the long sparklers with a warm glow. I usually photograph this before the first dance, that way you’re not stopping the party.
