As a regular Curradine Barns Wedding Photographer, I know this gorgeous venue well. Just twenty minutes from Worcester, nestled in the village of Shrawley. It’s surrounded by stunning countryside, which I love to incorporate into my photos. It has bags of rustic appeal, so if you’re looking for a barn wedding venue in Worcestershire, it should definitely be on your list!

When Lauren & Michael told me about their plans for a chic but laid back wedding day, I was really excited to be their Curradine Barns Wedding Photographer. It was my first Spring wedding of the year! What a way to kick off my 2024 wedding season!

Getting ready photos at Curradine Barns

When I arrived, the girls were in the capable hands of Jessica Ava for make up and Sonya Jane doing hair. A real dream team for the girls! There was such a great atmosphere in the morning while the girls got ready. The tunes were on and the Prosecco was open. Lauren’s dress was designed by Maggie Sottero, I loved the delicate pearls, so pretty. Michael & Lauren’s Daughter, joined the girls and looked so adorable as a Flower Girl. Once Lauren had given her bridesmaids some thank you gifts, I got some portraits of them all ready before I headed over to see Michael and the boys, who were getting ready in the Curradine Honeymoon Cottage and Farmhouse.

Worcestershire Barn wedding venue with Accommodation

One of the many things I love about being a Curradine Barns Wedding Photographer is that there are two spaces for the couple to get ready. It’s brilliant being able to nip between the two places and means I can photograph you both. If your timings work, I can do this without the need for a second photographer. The boys all wore black tie. I always think tuxedos are such a chic and stylish choice! Once bow ties had been adjusted and hair styled, the boys were ready for some photos all together. Of course there was plenty of banter, which I love and lots of laughs as they walked to the ceremony.

Where to have confetti at Curradine Barns

There are a few different locations that work really well for confetti photos.

  1. If it’s raining, the venue allow confetti inside the Barley Barn, as you walk down the aisle.
  2. The lawned area in front of the gazebo, by the farmhouse.
  3. Outside the main glass entrance doors

It’s always nice to have a few moments to yourselves straight after your ceremony. While I’m setting up the confetti is the perfect opportunity to do this. The venue will have handed you your favourite drink, so just take a moment to celebrate that you’ve just got married!

Fun Wedding Party Group Photos

After Lauren and Michael had mingled with their guests for a little while, I took their wedding party for some fun group photos. These don’t need to take long or be stiff and boring. Bring your drinks and have fun with your closest people! Of course I still get those more traditional shots where everyone is looking to the camera but it’s nice to mix it up with some more relaxed photos too.

Couple Portraits by a Curradine Barns Wedding Photographer

Once some more canapés had been eaten and Lauren and Michael had spent some more time with their guests, it was time for some couple photos. As a Curradine Barns Wedding Photographer, I love this part of the day. It really gives you both some much needed time out together to catch your breath. We wandered around the gardens and captured some gorgeous couple portraits.

After dinner I saw the tiniest glimmer of a sunset, so I whisked Lauren and Michael to the back of the venue to chase that golden light. We spent just five minutes getting these beautiful sunset photos and although it didn’t last long, it’s always worth it!
