West Midlands Best Country House Wedding Venues
As I’ve been a Birmingham based wedding photographer for over a decade now, I’ve seen so many beautiful wedding venues. It seems that having your wedding in a luxury country manor house is as popular as ever and you really are spoilt for choice. I thought it would be helpful to put together a guide to some of the West Midlands’ best Country House wedding venues (in no particular order). I hope it will give you some inspiration and help you decide which venue is the one for you.
Luxury Manor House Wedding Venues in the West Midlands
Alrewas Hayes
Situated in Staffordshire, not far from Lichfield and Burton on Trent, is Alrewas Hayes. I’m lucky that I get to photograph at least three or four weddings a year here and it’s simply one of the best! You have a choice of ceremony areas, my favourite being the Orangery. It has floor to ceiling arched windows, that fill the room with light and doors that lead directly out onto a pretty courtyard, that is planted with pretty lavender in the Summer. There’s a sail cloth canopy covering the lower courtyard, which is perfect for sheltering from the hot sun or rain. You have a choice of reception rooms for your guests to enjoy and a lakeside marquee for your wedding breakfast. This is no standard marquee! Think hard wood flooring, soft white drapes and crystal chandeliers. It really does have the wow factor.
Accomodation: 11 bedrooms
Ceremony capacity: 100
Dinner capacity:650

Bourton Hall
A country mansion wedding venue situated just outside Rugby, in the Warwickshire countryside. There are over 15 acres of gardens to wander in, with a sweeping lawn at the rear, that has a view of the house. There are a choice of stunning locations for your ceremony. Say your vows inside the mansion, in the light filled Italian Room, or why not say I do, in the former Catholic chapel. Bourton Hall has a stunning honeymoon suite, it’s huge! Think high sash windows and a room decorated in neutral tones. It’s the perfect room for beautiful getting ready photos and there’s even a balcony that I’ve used for some romantic couple portraits. Why not take five minutes to yourselves after your ceremony and then enter your reception, sweeping down the grand staircase, to the cheers of your guests.

Stunning inside and out. There is so much to explore in the gardens and grounds. Think manicured lawns for a game of croquet, English roses in full bloom and a lavender beds. There’s a woodland walk, a picturesque lake and even an old piano and swing in the grounds. The team are constantly improving the venue and have recently refurbished the old Dovecote, for outdoor ceremonies.
