I’ve been offering family photography in Birmingham and the surrounding areas for over ten years now, it’s something I’m really passionate about. Now my children are older, I can’t emphasise enough, how quickly the years fly by! Before you know it, they’re teenagers and not as keen for you to take their photos (I still force mine to do it though). A family photo shoot freezes a moment in time for you and I guarantee you’ll look back at the photos we create together for years to come.

Outdoor Family Photo Shoot in Birmingham

My family photography is relaxed and easy! I like to photograph outside as much as possible, it gives the children freedom to run around and have a bit of fun. If you’re worried about whether your children will cooperate, honestly don’t! My shoots are play based, which means I use prompts and games to get your children to interact with you and each other naturally. A lot of the time, they forget they’re being photographed and the result is authentic photos that show bags of personality. We did exactly that at this recent outdoor family portrait shoot in Birmingham. There was tree climbing, exploring and lots of giggles from these gorgeous twins with Mum and Dad

What to wear for a family photo shoot

I get asked a lot ‘what should we wear for our family photo shoot?’. The most important thing, is that you’re comfortable! Wear something you feel great in. The next thing to consider is co-ordinating your outfits. They don’t need to be too matchy matchy but pick a few colours that work well together. It will make a big difference to your photos and give you a much more, pulled together look. This family did this really well with their choice of pinks and blues.
