Ingestre wedding photography with relaxed farm reception
A relaxed reception on the family farm, near Ingestre Hall, Staffordshire was the order of the day for this lovely farming couple. The day started with the Lowri and her Bridesmaids getting ready at Tixall Gatehouse. The gatehouse was just a few minutes from Matthew’s family farm, where the marquee reception was taking place. Back at the farm, Groom Matt and his Groomsmen were putting the finishing touches to rustic hay bale seating areas and the marquee, before they headed off to church.
Getting ready wedding photos at Tixall Gatehouse
Well what a surprise Tixall Gatehouse was! It was such a beautiful place for Lowri and her Bridesmaids to get ready for the wedding. Lots of light and a gorgeous rooms with plenty of space for everyone. The views over the Staffordshire countryside are stunning! It’s just a short drive from Ingestre Hall and St Mary the Virgin Church, so a great place for Bridal prep if you’re having a wedding at either of these places.
I absolutely LOVED Lowri’s one shoulder wedding dress, from Etheral Bridal, Staffordshire. She looked so chic and elegant!
Wedding at St Mary’s Church, Ingestre
Just a short drive from Tixall Gatehouse and a few hundred yards from Ingestre Hall and Ingestre Orangery, is St Mary’s, which is Ingestre Parish Church. When Lowri arrived, the guests were all inside and Matthew stood at the alter, nervously waiting. After an emotional ceremony it was time for the confetti! The confetti throw is one of my favourite parts of the day. I always check with the vicar where they’re happy for confetti to be thrown. St Mary’s has a lovely country lane/driveway directly in front of it, which is a great spot for a confetti walk.
Couple Portraits
On the way back to the farm, Lowri, Matt and myself stopped to get some couple portraits in one of the cob fields that Matt had planted. I love doing this kind of thing! We simply built an extra 10 minutes into the reception schedule and it gave them time out to just be together before the reception started. None of the guests even noticed, as everyone was still arriving by the time we got to the farm. So if you love a location that’s on the way between your church and venue, don’t be shy to ask your photographer what they think of stopping off to get some extra photos.
Farm wedding in Staffordshire
One advantage of having a wedding on a farm, is that there are usually plenty of outbuildings and interesting locations for wedding photography. This family farm had a beautiful historic gothic temple in it’s grounds, so we just had to use it for some lovely relaxed couple photos. As Lowri and Matt are livestock farmers, it was a given that they wanted to include the cows in some of their photos.
