Relaxed Spring Wedding at Pimhill Barn
This relaxed Spring wedding at Pimhill Barn was so much fun! I’m always happy when my couples tell me they’ve chosen Pimhill Barn. It’s a rustic DIY Shropshire venue that’s on a working farm and gives couples the total freedom to create the wedding they want. Mary & Oliver did just that! Having never been to a wedding before their own, they were able to create their day without any preconceived ideas or rules and create a wedding that was truly their own. Their main wish was that they wanted the day to feel laid back and informal. They definitely achieved it! They created the perfect relaxed Spring wedding at Pimhill Barn.
Getting ready photos at Pimhill Barn
When I arrived, Mary and her Bridesmaids were getting ready in the Courthouse. This is a lovely building in the grounds that has a huge living area upstairs, making it perfect for your hair and make up team to set up in. Downstairs is the bedroom with a huge full length mirror, making it a perfect space for some getting ready photos. Once Mary had put on her dress, we did a reveal to her Dad and Bridesmaids and then I got some portraits of Mary looking absolutely stunning before the ceremony.
The Ceremony
Ceremonies at Pimhill Barn are always special! The barn ceiling is decorated with thousands of hanging fairy lights and looks really magical. Mary walked down the aisle to a beaming Oliver, on the arm of her Dad. I loved the flowers that they’d chosen from Blossom and Bloom, for the alter.
Confetti Photos
The couple walked out of the barn to some serious confetti throwing. Confetti photos are always some of my favourites. My biggest tip is to get lots and then get some more! You can never have too much confetti!
The Drinks Reception
It was important to the Mary & Oliver that their wedding day felt relaxed and they had time to chat to lots of their guests. With this in mind, they chose to have a longer drinks reception. The cocktails and beers were flowing all day and guests were able to pull their own pints from the VW Combi keg, such a brilliant idea and it really created a fun, party atmosphere. It gave me some great opportunities to create natural wedding photography. All of the weddings I’ve photographed at Pimhill Barn, have always had really friendly, easy going guests. These guys were lots of fun and I’m always happy to be photographing people having a great time, so I was in my element.
Outdoor Wedding Speeches
To continue with a more relaxed vibe for the day, they chose to have some of their speeches outside. The guests all gathered round for a welcome speech by Father of the Bride and a joint speech from Mary & Oliver.
Couple Portraits
The gardens at Pimhill Barn are gorgeous all year round but in the Spring, they are so, so pretty! Once you’ve spent some time eating canapés and chatting to your guests, we can have a wander and I can get some beautiful photos of you both. I don’t take you away for too long, just 20 minutes is plenty of time (I’m always happy to take longer if you’d like to). The blossom trees were looking really pretty and were perfect for that Springtime look.
Colourful Spring wedding flowers
I couldn’t go without mentioning the stunning flowers at this wedding! Created by Mollie at Blossom & Bloom in Shrewsbury, so talented!
